New lynx distribution map for Central Europe
The SCALP Monitoring Report 2020/2021 presents a new distribution map of the Eurasian lynx. This map shows the occurrence and reproductive events of the lynx in nine countries in Central Europe.

Lynx Finja has died of distemper
Minister Peter Hauk MdL: «The death of our lynx Finja is sad but can unfortunately also be part of the reality of reintroduction projects. After an intensive veterinary pathological examination, the cause of death has now been clarified».

Release of a potential breeding Lynx into the wild
A young Carpathian lynx, originally intended for the European Conservation Breeding Programme as a breeding lynx, was released into the wild in Saxony on 10 July 2024 due to better suitability.

Lynx Finja died
The lynx Finja was supposed to lay the foundation for a permanent and healthy lynx population. The animal was now found in a very poor condition in the northern Black Forest. As no treatment was effective, the animal had to be put down.

RElynx Saxony: Third lynx released into the wild - Alva has arrived in the Ore Mountains
Since Maundy Thursday, there are no longer two lynxes sneaking through Saxony's forests, but three: Alva the cat has been released near Eibenstock as part of the «RELynx Saxony» project.

RElynx Saxony: Juno and Nova - the first lynxes have been reintroduced into the wild
Perhaps a piece of history was written here: On 18 March 2024, the first two lynxes, Juno the male and Nova the female, were released into the wild in the western Ore Mountains as part of the «RELynx Sachsen» project. More animals are to follow and establish a new lynx population in Saxony.
